After my weekend in Bucharest, I would plan an entire trip with the sole purpose of going back to the spa.
Our first day in Romania was rainy and cold so we headed to Therme Bucharest. The spa advertises itself as “the largest recreation, wellness, and entertainment center in Europe,” and it lives up to it’s promise. The facilities were massive!
Because the exchange rate was working so well in our favor, we booked ourselves three hours with access to all three areas of the spa: Palm, Elysium, and Galaxy and headed in to enjoy the most incredible spa I’ve ever seen. Despite the cold raininess of Romania in May, Therme Bucharest felt like a tropical paradise. Thousands of plants surrounded us like a lush garden, and the pools were giant, warm, and welcoming. Funnily enough, it felt like we were back in Italy, as we were surrounded by probably 5 or 6 Italian bachelor parties. Honestly, we talked about going back just for a spa day; plane tickets from Milan can be under 30 from Milan, the spa is close to the airport, and the spa itself isn’t very expensive for all it has to offer!
In fact, after spending a number of ours soaking in various tubs, lounging in differently themed saunas, sipping piña coladas at the swim up bar, we decided to stay for a few more hours, and made our way to the in-spa waterpark! Yes, the spa had a separate room (the only room where children were allowed) full of waterslides. Every minute at the spa was relaxing, fun, and easy.
