I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: holidays are the absolute worst part of living abroad. Especially holidays that are so full of family tradition. For me, that’s Thanksgiving. It is so hard being away from the people I love most and traditions I adore. My friends and I started our own little tradition of going on a trip each year for Thanksgiving to somewhere that gives off the feeling we miss so much (coziness).
For our 2017 Thanksgiving trip, we headed to Krakow, Poland, a city I didn’t know I’d love as much as I did. It was everything we were looking for: great food, amazing handicrafts, Christmas markets, mulled wine, and a beautiful Airbnb where we could hide from the cold. We also made a horrifying, but meaningful trip to Auschwitz. Poland was an amazing trip, and I love reminiscing while eating off of my gorgeous Polish pottery!
